BEST WEDDING BANDS IN BIRMINGHAM
There’s a venue for every kind of couple in Birmingham. One says their vows in a Jacobean hall, another throws a party in a canalside warehouse, a third heads out to a country estate where the night can run as late as they like. Its wedding venues stretch from the Jewellery Quarter and the city centre out to countryside halls on the edge of town. A wedding band in Birmingham has to handle all of it, as at home in a grand ballroom as in a packed marquee.
Aston Hall sets a formal tone, a 17th-century mansion with oak-panelled rooms and a courtyard that takes a marquee for a bigger wedding celebration. Down in Digbeth, The Bond swaps that for exposed brick and canal views, built for a louder, later kind of night. Head out to Sutton Coldfield and the New Hall Hotel & Spa gives you a moated country manor with grounds to spread across.
This is where Jonny Ross Music comes in. We pull together acts from right across the Midlands, matching the wedding bands Birmingham couples want to the room in front of them, the guest list and the music choices that matter to them.

FIND YOUR PERFECT WEDDING BAND
WEDDING BAND HIRE BIRMINGHAM
Start with the feeling you want in the room, then work back to the act. Some couples want a high-energy floor from the first number, others want a slow build that holds the big moments back for after dinner. Both work, and the right band gives you either.
Our roster covers a real variety of music: acoustic duos, soul and Motown outfits, funk and disco bands, indie acts, pop and rock lineups and DJ and sax pairings. For a bigger sound, a 5-piece wedding band or a brass band fills a room fast. Every act is a professional wedding band, checked for reliability before it goes on the books. The band members read a floor rather than plough through a fixed list, and plenty bring male and female lead vocals for a fuller sound.

PLANNING YOUR WEDDING
Mood comes first, because the room takes its lead from the wedding music well before the first dance.
A string trio over drinks and a soul band an hour later pull the same space in completely different directions, and the size of the act sets the volume of the whole evening. What fits depends on your crowd and the night you’re picturing, and the music for your wedding should feel woven into the day rather than bolted on beside it.
The venue settles most of the rest. Nailcote Hall out at Berkswell has a glass marquee that seats a few hundred, so a full five-piece band has the space and the numbers to fill it once the meal is cleared.
Hampton Manor near Solihull has a different vibe. Its glass atrium and country-house rooms suit a tighter setup that lifts the day without swamping it. Highbury Hall over in Moseley is a grand Victorian mansion full of period character. The rooms of this Grade II* Victorian mansion carry sound their own way, so a compact, polished act often suits the space better than a big PA. Once you know how the venue holds sound and how many guests you’re feeding, we can pick the right act for you.
LIVE WEDDING BANDS FOR EVERY MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY
MUSIC FOR CEREMONIES, DRINKS RECEPTIONS AND DINNER
Live music isn’t just an evening thing. For the ceremony, a duo or trio on vocals and guitar or soft strings carries the walk down the aisle and settles the room without pulling focus from the vows.
Once the drinks come out, the day loosens up. A mini band or acoustic act playing feel-good covers, easy jazz and low-key background music keeps guests talking while they mingle, and Birmingham’s courtyards, terraces and canalside spaces suit a roaming band that moves through the crowd rather than staying put on a stage.
Dinner asks for a lighter touch again. A duo, a 3-piece band or a solo player adds warmth under the speeches and the meal without anyone raising their voice to be heard. From a city warehouse to a country manor dining room or a converted barn, there is a live wedding entertainment setup built for the room and the running order.

FIRST DANCE IDEAS THAT AREN’T CRINGE
Let’s be honest, the words “first dance” can make even the most confident couple feel slightly awkward. You don’t want the slow sway for four whole minutes while everyone forms a circle and stares. You don’t want something that feels forced. And you definitely don’t want to be halfway through thinking, “How long is this song?!”
WHICH IS WHY WE’VE PUT TOGETHER OUR GUIDE TO ENSURING YOUR FIRST DANCE IS CRINGE FREE.

WEDDING BAND HIRE BIRMINGHAM FAQS
1. HOW MUCH DOES A WEDDING BAND IN BIRMINGHAM COST?
Price comes down to the size of the act, how long they play and how much of the day they cover, from a solo acoustic set through to a full party band that fills a dancefloor. Send us your date and venue and we’ll come back with acts available in your budget, not a vague figure.
2. DO YOUR WEDDING BANDS BRING THEIR OWN PA AND LIGHTING?
Our bands turn up with their own sound system and everything they need to perform, and most bring stage lighting for the evening set to turn it into a proper live show. If your venue has sound limits, access windows or setup restrictions, flag them early and we’ll match you with an act that works for the space.
3. WHICH AREAS AROUND BIRMINGHAM DO YOUR BANDS COVER?
A band from Birmingham suits couples who want performers on their doorstep, and we have plenty on the books. Our local Birmingham acts play right across the West Midlands, out to Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Wolverhampton and the surrounding towns, while others travel to countryside venues further afield. Tell us where you’re getting married and we’ll confirm who covers it.
4. CAN THE SAME BAND COVER THE DAYTIME AND THE EVENING?
Plenty of our acts do both, with a stripped-back setup for the ceremony or drinks and a fuller lineup for the wedding reception once the evening kicks in. Booking one act across the day keeps the sound consistent and saves you juggling separate suppliers, and some can run a DJ set between live sets, so the music never stops. It’s worth raising early so we can build a running order that flows.
5. WILL THE BAND LEARN OUR FIRST DANCE SONG?
Most of our acts are glad to learn a first dance that isn’t already in their set, as long as we get enough notice for them to rehearse it properly. Some couples pick a quiet ballad, others go for modern songs or a full-floor anthem that gets everyone up straight away. If the track is heavily produced or built around studio effects, we’ll tell you straight how it holds up live or if a recording would do it more justice.
6. HOW FAR AHEAD SHOULD WE BOOK A BIRMINGHAM WEDDING BAND?
The most in-demand acts go 12 to 18 months out, especially for summer Saturdays. Winter dates and weekday weddings tend to free up more room at shorter notice. Get in touch once your venue is confirmed and we’ll tell you what’s still open for your date.

WHERE ELSE DO WE COVER?
